52nd Annual Gem, Mineral, and Fossil Show – Hamburg, NY

The Buffalo Geological Society is proud to present their 52nd Annual Gem, Mineral, and Fossil Show – Garnets: Our State Gem! This year’s show is located in the Marketplace, Grange, and NYS Police buildings at The Fairgrounds in Hamburg, NY (please use the entrance at 5820 South Park Avenue). We will again have an amazing array of vendors who carry a wide variety of minerals, gems, jewelry, crystals, and lapidary equipment. Additionally, we will have numerous demonstrators who will display their geological knowledge and/or lapidary skills to inspire and entertain attendees. As always, we will also have representation from local non-profit organizations related to the hobby. Collectors and hobbyists will also have display cases showcasing their collections and specimens – some of which were collected on BGS field trips!

In addition to other demonstrations and displays, children can partake in activities designed exclusively for them, including “Grandpa’s Corner”, where they can create use colored sand to create works of art, and the “Mini Mine”, where they can ‘dig’ for fossil and mineral specimens and have them identified by professionals.
