The Orange County Mineral Society was established in 1953 as a not for profit organization. The objective of the Society is to promote the hobby and to further the interests in the earth sciences.
This is accomplished by the use of educational programs of instruction in the fields of Mineralogy, Paleontology, Geology, The Lapidary Arts, and related fields. In addition, the Society promotes understanding through the use of lectures, field trips, shows, magazine usage, libraries, the internet and other related activities.
