The Micromounters of New England was organized on November 8, 1966 for the purpose of promoting the study of minerals that require a microscope. As the name implies, we are unique, different from other mineral clubs, and we try to emphasize this difference. Most (but not all) of our members already have a basic knowledge of minerals and are members of one or more unspecialized mineral clubs.
We restrict our programs and published articles to items relating to micromounting and we focus on localities in or adjacent to New England.
We encourage young people to join our club and we offer a discounted rate for youth memberships. We welcome non-members to visit our monthly meetings.
