Please note: After searching and attempts of requests for historical documents, the 2020 Bylaws Committee were not able to locate (or given) any previous Bylaw editions between 1995 and 2016. It was determined at some point after 1995, the EFMLS Constitution was co-mingled with the Bylaws into one document (thereafter referred to as the Bylaws). This was not, nor any previous versions of the EFMLS governing documents since 1968, filed with NY State whom granted our charter and incorporation. Due to the co-mingling of the Bylaws with Constitution and not being registered with NY State, the 1968 Constitution shall rightfully be one of the two (2nd being Bylaws) governing documents for the Eastern Federation of Mineralogical and Lapidary Societies, Inc.
To review the existing EFMLS Constitution: 1968-07-01_EFMLS Constitution (Note: ARTICLE 1: SECTION 1C. of the 2020 Proposed Amendments addresses that these 2 documents are inseparable as originally and historically intended/and per NY State filing)
The 2020 Bylaws Committee began meeting weekly at the end of June and will continue through the end of October, 2020. Several iterations of Marked up versions of the existing 2016 Bylaws and may be made available.
